Fares include the entire journey from Lugano-Cassarate (1st Section) to the summit of Brè (2nd Section). The section I route is covered with an automatic vehicle. If you choose to set out from Suvigliana, the price is the same.
Discounted rates and reductions cannot be combined.

Tickets can be purchased at the Suvigliana station of the funicular and from the Lake Lugano Navigation Company (SNL) (from 8 april until 19 october 2025).  If you want to organise a group trip, booking is recommended: info@montebre.ch

Single ticket is only available as a 1-way ticket with 2 options:
1. Ascent by funicular, descent by walk to Gandria, return to Lugano by boat.
2. By boat from Lugano to Cassarate, ascent by funicular and descent by walk to Gandria, return to Lugano by boat.
3. By boat from Lugano to Gandria, ascent to Monte Brè by walk, descent by funicular.

The combined ticket is available both at Swissminiatur in Melide and at the ticket office of our Funicular in Suvigliana (Lugano) and cannot be combined with other discounts.

By purchasing the ticket you get a 30% discount and, on the same day, you can reach the summit of Monte Brè (Lugano) with our Funicular at 933 m a.s.l. and visit Swissminiatur park in Melide (or vice versa)!

Starting from May 31st, 2025, the Monte Brè Funicular is wheelchair accessible.

Accessibility information:

  • Two elevators have been installed at the departure and arrival stations of the Suvigliana–Monte Brè route to ensure access for people with disabilities. Access requires a Eurokey.

  • The funicular is wheelchair accessible in a dedicated compartment measuring 2 x 2.2 meters.

  • From the Monte Brè arrival station, the Osteria Funicolare is easily reachable.

  • The companion’s ticket is free of charge.

  • All intermediate stations are accesible

  • The Cassarate – Suvigliana section is not accessible. Minibus transport is available (advance notice required, Tel. 058 866 75 66)

MOUNTAIN BIKE RENTAL

The Monte Brè Funicular supports the adventurous spirit of its visitors. At the summit, mountain bikes and helmets are available for rent. Both classic mountain bikes (MTB) and electric mountain bikes (e-MTB) are offered.
