PART 1
The summit of Monte Brè is also the perfect starting point for this pleasant descent that will lead you directly to the shores of Lake Lugano. From the 933 metre-high summit, head towards the basin where the village of Brè is nestled. A unique opportunity to explore the artistic works dotted around the historic village. The route then resumes down a long descent towards Gandria. It is on this stretch that you can get even closer to nature by exploring the naturalistic and archaeological themed trail to Gandria: along this section, you will fully experience the history of this particular area and come into contact with some unique natural features of the region.

PART 2
Taking advantage of the combined Funicular & Boat ticket and embarking from Gandria, you can get directly and conveniently to the other side of the lake. So set sail from Gandria and experience to the full the thrill of crossing the lake with a view of Monte Brè. Once at the Cantine di Gandria, we recommend a visit to the Swiss Customs Museum, popularly known as the “Smugglers’ Museum”. The route follows a mountain hiking trail that runs along the shore of the lake, to the final destination at San Rocco. Ideally, we recommend returning to Lugano by boat, embarking directly from Caprino.
